With the recent government adjustment in Afghanistan, many are seeking to leave the country yet lack access to travel resources. Between this political change and the United State’s presidential transition, Afghanistan’s Central Bank’s assets have been frozen, further contributing to this nation’s hunger and economic crisis.

20 million Afghans are living in poverty, and 1 to 2 children are dying from malnutrition every day. A single loaf of bread has become too expensive, resulting in starving families begging for bread outside of bakeries. According to the United Nations, this is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis as 90 percent of Afghans are suffering from food insecurity.
